May 30th, 2023Just checking in on a few more repairs at the Paws Pet Adoption Center. We do more each quarter as we have $$’s. Kind of slow going but at least we’re moving forward!
Quick recap:
Remember, all money donated to PAWS of Carteret for construction went exactly for the construction. There is no mortgage on the building! Florence caused $271,000 in damages. The Insurance company replaced the roof only. We were in litigation 3.5 years. Our store was closed 13 of 24 months (also hurricane Florence damages & COVID) so we had no income at all. Covid prevented almost all fundraising, not only for us but most nonprofits. We’re still here, still all volunteers, still making slow, but steady progress. We could sure use a grant/donation for $200,000 right about now! We are sure sad it’s taking so long but we lost a lot of precious time in the lawsuit.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers, we’ve been through so much. At least the flowers are blooming…..
PAWS FREE Pet Food Pantry Drive (Collection)

Description: The FREE PAWS Pet Food Pantry is available to anyone in need for their pets. The shelves need replenishing. Please drop of your pet food and supply donations at our Thrift & Gift Shoppe, 5243 Hwy. 70 W. Morehead City to be distributed. There is a true need here in Carteret County and we help all that we can. Open Monday-Saturday 12-4pm for drop-offs. This food goes directly to folks in need and not for PAWS pets. Thank you so much!

PAWS Pet House Challenge 2023

Description: March 4th & March 5th 2023, Competition & Fund Raiser
10-3pm Saturday, 10-3pm Sunday at the Coastal Home & Garden Show!
The event showcases a lively competition between local schools for top dog honors in 3 categories: Builder’s Choice, Buyer’s Choice, and People’s Choice.
Bid to take home your favorite pet house during the silent auction portion of the event!
*Buy your Lotto Tree Tickets ($5) at our inside table to take home $100 of scratch offs!!*
Funds raised from this event will help purchase more of the equipment needed to open the PAWS Alternative No-Kill Adoption Center.
